Thank you for your hard work in IV3!
Once you have completed your challenges in IV3, it is your responsibility to submit your challenges to your local county elections office. If you discover new information as you go through the process please share it with us so we can update our spreadsheet!
Please check our State Standards for Challenge spreadsheet to learn more about what is specifically required in your state. This spreadsheet can also be found at the bottom of the IV3 home page. Generally, a state will require a cover letter, possibly an oath or affidavit, and the list of potentially ineligible records you’ve identified. Your challenged records can be exported by clicking on the red EXPORT button at the top of your Review Challenged Records section of your dashboard. The spreadsheet that is generated will contain all the pertinent information necessary to submit a challenge.
You can choose which challenges you want downloaded based on a challenged date or date range. This will allow you to filter out records you have already submitted to your local office.
We don't recommend submitting more than 100 challenges at a time.
When submitting your challenges to your county, we recommend downloading and printing the "Data Details" which can be found right next to the red "Export" button. This document explains in detail where IV3 is sourcing their data from.
If you would like a cover letter template see the attached file at the bottom of this article. You will need to edit it with specifics, but it's a great place to start! You may also find state specific affidavits in the state challenge spreadsheet depending on your state requirements.
Once you have all your information we suggest reaching out to your county elections office for clarification on the challenge submissions process. They will be able to answer any specific questions related to how they receive the challenges whether digital or paper, what is required to accompany the challenges such as oath or affidavit, who to send the challenges to and any other questions you may have.
At IV3, the only state specific information we have is on our state challenge guidelines spreadsheet which is linked above. If you ask us for more detailed information on the challenge process specific to your area we will recommend you reach out to your local county elections office for specifics.
Onward!
