Members of the military have the option to vote via an absentee ballot. In order to protect the voter registrations of our service men and women, we are working on removing military addresses from our database.

In the meantime, We do NOT recommend submitting challenges on any voter registration record in which the address appears to be located on a military base. These voters are more likely to move for extended periods of time, which may trigger their appearance on the NCOA list while not accurately reflecting the intent of the voter. In some states, military voters are entirely precluded from any challenge to their record.

Address markers associated with military bases often include one of the following abbreviations: MPO, APO, FPO, DPO, PAL, SAM, MOM, AFP, AA, AE, AP
